#104 Clock Watchers

We come from a long line of clock watchers
Who try to put time in a frame
Watching the sun cross the sky
A sundial!
The need to put time in our hands
We try to control time, possess it
It's a force with no feeling, no form
Just another irresistible power
Slipping right through your hands
Time changes time passe
Time doesn't wait
We delude ourselves
By giving it substance
But we know we are not its master
And in the event that something good happens
We try to make it last
But time cannot be sped up or slowed
So tell me, why even try?
Procrastinate, procrastinate
Time is on my side
Just five more minutes, I'll do it tomorrow
Today's just not a good time
Time doesn't have a side
It's steadier than a rock
It flows like a river
It doesn't tick like a clock!
It isn't an hourglass, a watch on a wrist
You cant touch it or hold it
It's a question without an answer
Like a river it will run out
Like a rock, it will sink.
We watch the clock ticking
Counting as time passes us by.
