#35 That’s Just My Friend

#strongwomen #writer #author #entrepreneur #blog #blogger #canadian #alberta #poetry

She makes me want things I don't have
Imagine meanings behind your laugh.
Her love is hate, her favorite colour is green
That's just my friend, Envy.

Once upon a time, I was a happy girl
Until my new friend moved into my world
To hide me from myself is her ambition
That's just my friend, Depression.

She'll spin me in circles, then let me go
And laugh at me when I take the wrong road
She might be real or just an illusion
That's just my friend, Confusion.

And there's the last friend, my favorite of them all
The one who kicks dust in my face
And she snickers when I fall
The only friend I don't want to hate

Because to tell the truth
That friend will always be you.
