If the rain ceased to fall
And all became barren
I'd be okay, because I'd have you.
If thistles replaced grass
And thorns took over trees
I'd be okay because I'd have you.
If the heavens crumbled on their foundations
And chaos took over
I'd be okay because I'd have you.
If my soul burned in Hell!
If I was eternally damned!
I'd be okay because I'd have you...
And if the sun never shone again
I'd be okay as long as I still had you.

  1. I was just naively copying this post from my night notebook, and then it really escalated quickly. My 12-year-old self was pretty angsty and dramatic. I don’t think she realized she was saying that her crush is hell-bound and damned. Whoops.
